Bill Luti 5-Miler 2021

  • Collin Leibold of Concord, Mass. was the male winner in a new course record time of 24:11
  • Jennifer Mortimer of Bedford was the female winner in a time of 29:35
  • Joe Boyle and Tom Dunigan after their virtual run on the Luti course on July 10th
  • Maureen Prendergast was able to run a dog friendly version between trails and road and still include some of the Luti loop! Running partner; Tripel who makes way too many bathroom stops!
  • Running the Luti 5-miler has been a highlight of our annual family vacation - this year we opted to run it from a camp off Moosehead Lake in Maine, rather than leave a day early to run it in Concord.
  • John Varrill: I rode this Kickbike scooter on the Luti 5-mile course on 7/17, finishing in a time of 30:09. Due to the muddy conditions, had to leave the scooter near the "grandstands" on the far side of the track and jog the last couple of hundred yards to the finish line. I walked/jogged (mostly walked) the Luti course in reverse on July 16, starting at the finish line on the Memorial Field track and ending at the starting line on Clinton St. - with a time of 1:27:47. Because of left knee pain, I was only able to jog about a total of 1/2 - 3/4 miles of the 5-mile route. Was thinking of Coach Luti (and also the late, great Tom Atherton) during the walk/jog and the scooter ride. If anyone wants more info on the scooter and using it for injury rehab and for low impact workouts, feel free to contact me.
